Just noticed I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] brixtonbrood.

Five songs, then:
  1. Trio: Hearts Are Trump (Bouncy German nonsense; blame Ping for reminding me about it. Remember Da Da Da (I Don't Love You You Don't Love Me)? Same people.)
  2. Unpublished Tom Lehrer songs, from http://www.archive.org/details/lehrer (there are five songs in that download, but the good ones are the third and fourth -- one about how to be a terrible lecturer, and one being rude about sociology)
  3. Philip Glass: Mad Rush (a lot of frantic activity, but going nowhere; feels appropriate somehow)
  4. Linda Thompson: I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight (just discovered her, thanks to a rather odd evening of music hall songs at the Lyric Hammersmith)
  5. Rufus Wainwright: Vibrate (Want One and Want Two are my two new favourite albums)

There have been quite a few exhibitions about London Architecture lately, including one last year in that odd underground space in Broadgate. The latest is the whopping great plastic model at New London Architecture. It's a 1:1500-scale version of (roughly) Zones 1 and 2, which turns out to be an I-can-see-my-house-from-here level of detail. The model is permanent, and there's currently also a temporary exhibition about London megaprojects. Did you know that they're starting work on Battersea power station (again!) this autumn?

Free, fascinating, and in the middle of town. What more could you want if you've an hour or two to kill?
